LSAT Test Scores
The score that is reported to law schools is your overall score, which ranges from 120 to 180. Scores are determined from your multiple-choice raw score, which is the number of multiple-choice questions you answered correctly. Your raw score (ranging from 0 to 101) is converted into an overall score using a formula that is designed for each particular LSAT. The average national LSAT score is 151.
Writing samples are not scored, but are used by law school admissions professionals to assess the writing skills of applicants.
How Law Schools use LSAT Scores
Although many factors are taken into account, the two main elements that law
schools consider when determining which applicants to admit are GPA and LSAT
scores.
Every law school, however, has a different policy on the weight of each factor
in the selection process. For additional information about law school
criteria, contact school representatives directly, or browse the

Guide to ABA-Approved Law Schools
